Turf Valley

Turf Valley encourages all families to not leave their dogs behind. We are proudly a dog friendly property and have all our room types available. The arrival kit for guest with dogs include a welcome letter, a yummy treat, a sign for the door knob indicating to housekeeping that a dog is staying over, and suggested walking areas on our property. We also keep dog bowls and beds available upon request. In order to maintain the standards of our product for all our guests, we do process a cleaning fee of $75 (per stay) for reservations that are dog friendly.

Worthington Dog Park

Dogs are invited to enjoy socializing and running without the confines of a leash. Park features include separate enclosures for large, small, timid & elderly dogs. A $5 day- pass fee and proof of current license and rabies apply. Handlers must be 18 years of age; children under the age of twelve are not allowed in off-leash area. Open seasonally, weather permitting.

Columbia DogPark is an off-leash area operated and maintained by Columbia Association. Columbia DogPark offers a recreation and park setting for dog lovers and dog owners to enjoy. The park consists of 2.7 acres divided into two fenced areas one for small and one for large dogs.

Blessing of the Animals

Pet owners can give thanks and ask for blessings upon their pets. All pets need to be on a leash. Blessing takes place in October in the piazza before the Shrine of St. Anthony in Ellicott City.

Dog Day Afternoon

Once a year the Columbia Association hosts this free event which is open to the general public. Come see local pet vendors (including vets and animal rescues),  face painting for kids, a caricature artist who does drawings of your dog, two leash free areas for small dogs and large dogs to run around and play, contests including “Best Kisser,” and “Best Costume,” and much more. This is one of CA’s most popular events!

Yappy Hour at the Wine Bin

Yappy Hour happens the first Friday of each month April through November. Bring your well behaved dog to a wine tasting. During nice weather, Yappy Hour is held in the parking lot with live music and wine. Inside the store enjoy a wine and parfections chocolate tasting.

Obedience Classes

Dog Obedience with Howard County Recreation and Parks

Who’s in charge, you or your dog? Turn Rover into a well-behaved companion. Dog must be older than four months old with current shots. Instructor will advise about leash and collar. Please bring dog on a 6-foot leash, no retractable leashes allowed. Bring plastic bag and scoop. Class appropriate for any size dog.

Dog Park Manners with Howard County Recreation and Parks

Having trouble at the dog park? Is your dog nervous, aggressive or does not listen when it’s time to go? This is a great class for socializing and becoming acquainted with the dog park. We will start with basic dog obedience and work up to socializing and experiencing the dog park. Please bring a 6-foot leash, no retractable leashes allowed. Bring plastic bag and scoop. Class appropriate for any size dog.
