“The Taste of Long Reach”

The Long Reach High School Boosters Club is having their annual fundraiser, “The Taste of Long Reach”, on Friday, March 6th from 7:00pm-11:00pm at The Gathering Place in Clarksville, MD. Come join us for delicious food from our area restaurants, a great silent auction and basket raffle, and dancing! Tickets are $40, if purchased by February 27th. Scope Out The Night Sky at Robinson Nature Center

The Maryland Science Center and Robinson jointly present this exciting family-focused astronomy event. Enjoy a planetarium presentation, build your very own GalileoScope (a functional telescope for night sky viewing; $50 value), hold a meteorite and view the stars through telescopes (weather-permitting). $24 per family (up to five members). Each family receives a telescope, a tripod and a star map. This program is supported through a grant from the Howard County Arts Council. Click here to see pictures from the last event. The Howard County Conservancy offers guided hikes and talks on the second Saturday of each month.  Join us  to learn about  fantastic resources for your stay-cations and day-trips to outdoor places within easy driving distance of Howard County!  Linda Decker and Sherry Conklin, lifelong nature-lovers and Master Gardeners, will share their favorites – formal display gardens, arboretums, wild native places to walk and hike, and historic landscapes.  You’ll take home great ideas for over 50 beautiful and interesting places to visit – in all seasons of the year!
