Young People’s Concerts

Dance Connections joins the Orchestra for its popular Young People’s Concerts for Camille Saint-Saëns – Carnival of the Animals. Kids of all ages will love this fun-filled introduction to the orchestra with our entertaining conductor and narrator Greg Jukes. Choose either the 10:30 or 1:00 concert and try your hand at playing instruments in between the two performances at our free Musical Instrument Petting Zoo.

FREE Chamber Concert: Columbia Orchestra Piano Trio

Debussy’s ravishing early Piano Trio is equal parts French Romanticism and early Impressionism, while Brahms combines the sophisticated forms of the Piano Quartet with the passionate flair of gypsy music. Pulitzer Prize-Winner Jennifer Higdon’s thrilling Trio explores colors, both musical and visual in a virtuosic tour-de-force. This concert by the Columbia Orchestra Piano Trio—Brenda Anna, violin; Nancy Smith, piano; and Jason Love, cello— is FREE and no seat reservation is required. (Donations to the series gladly accepted.)

Schubert & Stravinsky
