Art Exhibits

Gail Holliday Wilde Lake Post Exhibit 
Gail Holliday was instrumental in bringing James Rouse’s vision to life when Columbia was first being developed. As the artist in residence for the Rouse Company, she created silkscreen prints for each neighborhood of Columbia.This special Gail Holliday exhibit at Slayton House will feature posters dedicated to the image of Wilde Lake.

Imagining Home: Creating Community
The Arts Council's annual Youth Art Month exhibit, presented through an ongoing partnership with the Howard County Public School System, is titled Imagining Home: Creating Community. It features hundreds of works by HCPSS students in grades K-12, selected from public school art classes throughout the county. Inspired by the title theme, students created artwork using a variety of media and styles.  

No Boundaries
In partnership with Howard County Recreation and Parks’ Department of Therapeutic Recreation and Inclusion Services, the exhibit No Boundaries showcases work by youth and adult artists with developmental disabilities created in the Exploring Art and Focus on Art programs offered by the Department of Therapeutic Recreation and Inclusion Services. Participants In these programs have the opportunity to explore a variety of media, styles, and methods of creating art.  

Healing Hands/Words of Inspirations: Blossoms of Hope 8th Annual Theme Exhibition Honoring Columbia's 50th Birthday
Exhibition celebrates 50 original artist works and 50 corresponding original writings (poems, letters, short essays) relating to the theme of Healing Hands selected by HoCoPoLitSo. Proceeds from Entry Fees and Sales benefit Blossoms of Hope, which supports the Claudia Mayer/Tina Broccolino Cancer Resource Center and other causes.
