Welcome back to the weekend Howard County! This weekend we have some great events to get you out and moving, from Cake & Ben Folds at Merriweather, to the Belmont Summer Open House. So get ready for another exciting summer weekend here in HoCo!

Dance Party on the Chrysalis
Ben Folds is widely regarded as one of the major music influencers of our generation. He has created an enormous body of genre-bending music that includes pop albums with Ben Folds Five, multiple solo albums, and collaborative records with artists spanning Sara Bareilles, Regina Spektor, and William Shatner. 

Belmont Summer Open House
Transport yourself back to the 18th century while visiting Belmont Manor Nestled within a 68 acre natural setting, Belmont’s 1738 era Manor is surrounded by numerous other outbuildings, a cemetery, carriage house and an original barn. Enjoy a self-guided tour through the manor a tour led by Howard County historian Fred Dorsey. The Howard County Conservancy will open their nature center, with resident owl Belle, and offer a nature detective badge.

Domenic Cicala & Thensome

Gather some friends at the Commons for local singer/songwriter Domenic Cicala and his band!
Inspired by the music of Hank, Elvis, Bruce, and Woody Guthrie, Domenic is a Roots Rock/Americana artist who performs his own tunes as well as beloved classics.

Cake & Ben Folds
CAKE’s adherence to their original guiding principles has only grown stronger. Originally formed as a somewhat antagonistic answer to grunge, CAKE’s democratic processes, defiant self-reliance, and lucid yet ever-inventive music has made them a nation-state unto themselves, with no obvious peers, belonging to no school. Ben Folds is widely regarded as one of the major music influencers of our generation. City Sights

Terry Pellmar will display an exhibition of dynamic digital paintings titled “City Sights” at Artists’ Gallery on Main Street.

Vibrance
An exhibit featuring work from four artists – Ilene Gold, Robert Hofherr, Joyce Ritter, and Mary Jo Tydlacka  – working in a variety of media, from painting to art quilts to collage. Each artist incorporates bright color and elements of abstraction in their art, creating vivid works that are often inspired by nature.
