April 6 & 7 - Clark’s Elioak Farm Opening Weekend
Reacquaint yourself and your children with your favorite animals at our farm. Take a pony ride on Captain Jack. Ready to take a hayride with Trusty the Tractor? Martha Clark will be available to sign copies of her children's books "Trusty the Tractor" and “Trusty the Tractor’s Day Off.” All Aboard the Enchanted Express Train, too! It’s so much fun to be back at the farm again! GEM MINING and GEODE CRACKING, too.

April 6 - Decanter Reimagined @ Laurel Park
The Maryland Wineries Association’s Decanter returns to Laurel Park for a five-course wine brunch. This event includes a Maryland wine tasting and a day at the races!

April 7 - Historic Oakland’s 2019 Wedding & Event Showcase @ Historic Oakland Manor

April 5 - Sugaray Rayford with Band Influence Band @ The Soundry
At 6’5” and 300 pounds, this cigar chompin’ ex-Marine with a voice like a force of nature holds court in any room he enters. Possessing a magnetic personality and an old school vocal style that echoes Muddy Waters, Otis Redding and Teddy Pendergrass.

April 6 - Concert Series Makes Musical Pilgrimage to Historic Clarksville Chapel
The award-winning Eya Ensemble will perform excerpts of a Lenten Pilgrimage 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, in the historic 1889 St. Louis Chapel, Clarksville.

April 6 & 7 - Symphonic Pops @ Jim Rouse Theater
Choose from two performances of  the popular, family-friendly Symphonic Pops Concert! Jason Buckwalter and Kimberly Christie join the Orchestra for your favorites from Guys and Dolls. The whole family will love selections from The Greatest Showman, Harry Potter, and Celtic classics featuring the Teelin Irish Dance Company in music from the Emerald Isle.

April 6 - The Ultimate 80's Night with The New Romance @ The Soundry
The New Romance cranks out an incredible nonstop high-energy show that will leave you breathless. You'll know every song, dance for hours and sing at the top of your lungs. Think of it as your favorite mixtape of the '80s coming to life!

April 7 - HCC Faculty Concert : Sagas and Fantasies @ Monteabaro Recital Hall
Benjamin Myers on cello and Hsiu-Hui Wang on piano. All you need for an afternoon of storytelling and passion is a good cello and piano duo as your guide.

April 5,6, & 7 - Always Full of Wonder @ Smith Theatre
The HCC Dance Company delivers engaging performances featuring the work of national and regional guest choreographers who have created work with HCC students. This concert is inspired by the Horowitz Center season theme of WONDER.

Bats in Belfries : Shana R. Goetsch & Danielle N. Garzelloni @ The Rouse Company Foundation Gallery
Bats in Belfries refers to an old colloquialism which presents bats as an allegory for mental illness. It relates architecture or structures to that of the mind’s own framework.

Alfonso Fernandez Vazquez : Entranced  @ Richard B. Talkin Family Art Gallery
The Horowitz Center Galleries presents the work of Alfonso Fernandez Vazquez in the Richard B. Talkin Family Art Gallery from April 1 -  May 6.
"Entranced" refers to the way viewers are lured into the works to discover nuances in color, texture, and iconography that forms a negotiation between subtle imagery referencing immigration, politics, and cultural identity.

Color & Places @ The Artists’ Gallery
Julie Gross presents a series of dynamic urban landscapes that explore the neon color palette associated with Miami, Peru and the Caribbean. She likes to use the magic of color and simply shapes while examining the effects of black light and neon oil color.

Brenda Kidera’s Natureworks Conveys Life @ Horsespirit Arts Gallery
Brenda Kidera’s classical realist paintings explore her passion for birds, animals, plants, trees, and waterways.  Rural areas of Maryland and various travels across the country were the inspiration for the collection. The pieces will continue to be displayed at HorseSpirit Arts Gallery from March 31st through April 21st.  

Teaching and Making with Big Ideas in Mind @ Howard County Arts Council
An exhibit featuring work by Howard County Public School System art faculty. During the summer, K-12 art teachers expanded their own artistic practice, and broadened their understanding of contemporary artists and teaching for big ideas, through in-depth research of contemporary artistic sources, and an exploration of new media and processes.

The Hunchback of Notre Dame @ Toby’s Dinner Theatre
From the Academy Award-winning team of Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast) and Stephen Schwartz comes a stunning retelling of Victor Hugo’s epic story of love, acceptance and what it means to be a hero.

Defining Ourselves : I Am More than What You See (Youth Art Month exhibit) @ Howard County Arts Council
Presented through an ongoing partnership between Howard County Public School System and the Arts Council, this year’s Youth Art Month exhibit features hundreds of works by HCPSS students in grades K-12, selected from public school art classes throughout the county.
