Welcome back to the weekend, Howard County! There is a ton to do this weekend--The Vans Warped Tour, Summer Restaurant Weeks, and A Midsummer Night's Dream are just some of the things you can experience this weekend in Howard County!
A Midsummer Night’s Dream
Performances are Thursdays through Saturdays at 8pm, and Sundays at 6pm. Sundays are Family Fun Days, with kid-friendly activities including face-painting and costume dress-up before the show.
The ticket tent and gates open 90 minutes before the performance for picnics, festival-style-fun for all ages, and preshow events.
DAYS and HOURS: For performances on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, gates will open at 6:30pm and the show will begin at 8pm. For performances on Sundays, gates will open at 4:30pm and the show will begin at 6pm.
Ponds, Puddles & Creeks Open House
Your guide will bring you by hayride to the Cattail Creek. Make sure you wear old tennis shoes or water shoes as we go into the creek to catch a variety of the critters that live there. After catching the critters, we take time to identify what we have found, and learn about their habitats and life cycles.
David Byrne with Benjamin Clementine
David will be performing songs from his new album American Utopia, as well as classics from his solo career and days with the Talk Heads. Performing with David will be an 12-piece untethered band, this weekend at Merriweather Post!
Vans Warped Tour
3OH!3, The Amity Affliction, As It Is, Assuming We Survive, August Burns Red, Broadside, Capstan, Chase Atlantic, Chelsea Grin, Crown The Empire, Dayseeker, and more will be performing at the Vans Warped Tour at Merriweather Post this weekend. Get ready for a festival like no other.
Paint It! Ellicott City Juried Exhibition
One wall in the gallery will be reserved to include work for a benefit exhibit to benefit the Re-CREATE: Ellicott City Artist Relief Fund. The benefit show will feature a collection of work donated by artists who have participated in Paint It! during previous years, or who have painted Ellicott City on their own. This year’s juried artists will also have an opportunity to participate in the benefit show.
An exhibit featuring work from four artists – Ilene Gold, Robert Hofherr, Joyce Ritter, and Mary Jo Tydlacka – working in a variety of media, from painting to art quilts to collage. Each artist incorporates bright color and elements of abstraction in their art, creating vivid works that are often inspired by nature.
In Sight: Observations of our Natural World
Artists' Gallery in Ellicott City celebrates gallery re-opening with "In Sight: Observations of our Natural World" paintings and woodcut prints by Ellen Corddey and ceramic work by Kathy Swan.
