It's the weekend again, Howard County! The sun should be out, and there's plenty to do with your friends and family!
HoCo Family Fun:
Family Fun Friday at Bethany United Methodist Church: As many of you may have been, we were looking forward to gathering at the June 8th Concert on the Courtyard outside of Little Market Café, and while our hearts go out to our Old EC friends who have been affected by the recent flooding, we are excited to announce that this event will take place at Bethany.
Armand's Help OEC Fundraiser: On Sunday June 10, 2018 20% of ALL sales for the day will go to the Ellicott City Partnership. This is the organization out of Howard County to aid and assist all the unfortunate people of Elliott city.
CFHoCO's 36th Annual Spring Party: The Community Foundation of Howard County, which raises, manages and distributes funds to support Howard County nonprofits, will hold its 36th annual Spring Party on Friday, June 8, from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Science Engineering Technology Building at Howard Community College.
Resident Visual Artists Exhibit: An exhibit featuring recent work in a variety of media by artists with studios at the Howard County Center for the Arts: James Adkins, Stanley Agbontaen, Joan Bevelaqua, Myungsook Ryu Kim, Art Landerman, Diana Marta, Brendan Nass, Joyce Ritter, Jereme Scott, Alice St. Germain-Gray, Andrei Trach, Jamie Travers, Mary Jo Tydlacka, and David Zuccarini.
Surface & Structure: Surface & Structure features work by artists Sooo-z Mastropietro and Chloe Irla. Both artists create mixed-media work that often incorporates various textile materials. Mastropietro’s artwork is made from fiber tubes, and she uses the medium to represent the way in which parts of the sum inevitably give way to the whole of bigger parts. Chloe Irla’s mixed-media paintings incorporate textile elements combined with acrylic paints and digital printing to create intricate, richly textured works.
Chrysalis Cabaret: Join Columbia Big Band and the Inner Arbor Trust as we premier the Chrysalis Cabaret Series - intimate arts events where the audience joins the artists on the Chrysalis stage! Free 30-minute swing dance lessons at 6:00 p.m., followed by a night of music and dance starting at 6:30 p.m. Come for "date night" or come as a family - we will have food trucks as well as a bar featuring local craft beer. You may also bring a picnic (no glass or alcohol).
