Whipps Garden Cemetery is Ellicott City’s only public historic garden-park run entirely by volunteers. The park is maintained by volunteers and the Howard County’s Master Gardeners and is open to the public daily. It is owned by a non-profit organization, The Friends of the Whipps Cemetery and Memorial Gardens, Inc. Begun as a family burial ground in 1855, Whipps is no longer an active cemetery – the last burial was in 1915.
Proceeds from the sale will benefit the Whipps Cemetery, a 501(3)(c) non-profit organization. UME Howard County Master Gardeners will be on hand to help answer your plant and gardening questions. For more information, email whippsgardencemetery@gmail.com.
