Hear how the two Ellicott City Courthouses, now part of the National Park Service's Freedom Trail, challenged the institute of slavery. Then, immerse yourself in the navigation of the Underground Railroad. Under the planetarium dome, discover stars and constellations that served as nightly beacons and learn how signals sewn into quilts and lyrics of songs were used to guide fleeing slaves North along a safe route. End with a short night hike along darkened trails and discover the historical significance of the Robinson Nature Center's property.
