Howard County Conservancy Looking for Additional Chapters to Expand Youth Climate Institute Certification Program

The Howard County Conservancy (HCC) is looking to expand their certified Youth Climate Institute© Certification Program to include new chapters in Howard County as well as around the state. The goal of the innovative program, geared towards 10-12 graders, is to build the next generation of climate leaders by providing them with a comprehensive yearlong course accompanied by their participation in an “Action Project” in the spring. Upon completion of the course, students receive an Ambassador Certification and have the option to continue their studies to obtain a Certified Ambassador with Honors. The HCC is holding free informational on-line Zoom sessions on how to become a chapter, how to get set-up for the Fall 2023 school year and includes topics such as teacher resources, tracking student requirements, student fees, chapter dues and building a community. These seminars are open to private and public schools, community centers, places of worship or any individual wanting to learn more about the Youth Climate Institute©.
