To commemorate Ellicott City's 250th anniversary, the Howard County Welcome center, in partnership with EC250 and Howard County Historical Society, is proud to present the "Milltown to City" exhibit. It describes the evolution of Ellicott City from the creation of the Ellicott Mills to the ways that transportation revolutions shaped the city throughout the 19th and 20th centuries.
Featuring photographs and artifacts, including something donated by one of the Welcome Center staff members, this exhibit will help tell the rich story of how Ellicott City came to be. Come learn more about why Ellicott City was considered a Bootlegger's Paradise, which movie was made here, and how you could buy a hotel for $10 in 1833.
The exhibit will run until the end of 2022.
