Get ready for a rewarding personal journey! Mind-Body Skills groups are a deeply personal and spiritual group, sharing experiences that introduce a wide variety of Mind Body Skills in a supportive group setting. Everyone can benefit from a Mind-Body Skills group! The groups are small, usually 7-9 people, which allows for a deeper level of connection, sharing and support. All of the groups meet at a set day and time for 8 weeks, 2-hours each week, which provides an opportunity for participants to begin to integrate the mind-body skills into their lives. Groups are comprised of adult of all ages and all types of backgrounds. The common theme is that all participants are seeking support in making changes in their lives, whether the desire is to decrease stress, increase coping ability, enhance immune function, manage anxiety or depression more effectively, or any number of other concerns. These skills include simple meditation through movement, drawings, imagery, mindfulness and nutrition to name a few. Each week, group members will engage in a mind-body technique that can be immediately integrated into daily life. The group will be educational, supportive, participatory, structured and fun. This 8-week series utilizes the principles of the Center for Mind-Body Medicine.
This group is for you if you want to: reduce stress, increase self-awareness, enhance productivity, stimulate creativity, promote healing, maintain a sense of well-being or promote overall functioning. Come prepared to share, be open-minded and most of all be ready to learn more about yourself! This is a group sharing activity, however the group is used more for one’s own self-care and self-reflection rather than “fixing or critiquing” the input of others from the group.
