HorseSpirit Arts Gallery will be hosting Kidera’s Solo Art Show entitled NatureWorks. The exhibit will be introduced on Sunday, March 31st from 1-4pm at a Grand Opening Reception. Located at Historic Savage Mill’s Cotton Shed Building, the reception is open to both the public and press.
Brenda Kidera’s classical realist paintings explore her passion for birds, animals, plants, trees, and waterways. Rural areas of Maryland and various travels across the country were the inspirations for the collection. The pieces will continue to be displayed at HorseSpirit Arts Gallery from March 31st through April 21st.
Kidera graduated summa cum laude with honors in art from Towson State University; studied art and architecture in Florence, Italy; and had private instruction from local artist David Zuccarini. Since 1997, Brenda Kidera has continued to teach watercolor, oil, acrylic, and drawing in group classes. Kidera has also conducted programs at Howard County Recreation & Parks, the Columbia Art Center, and various arts organizations.
The award winning and nationally exhibited artist was just awarded the Howie Award for Outstanding Artist in 2018. This prestigious award recognizes an artist who has “contributed a high level of talent and vision to the artistic life of the community.”
Kidera’s Juried Signature Artist memberships include the Washington Society of Landscape Painters, Society of Animal Artists, Baltimore Watercolor Society, Pennsylvania Watercolor Society, and most recently the International Guild of Realism.
