Watercolor Workshop with Kas Rohm: Brush Techniques

Saturday, June 24 from 12pm-2pm

Watercolor brushes come in various shapes and sizes, and your brush is a versatile and incredibly fun tool!

Class participants will explore the ways brushes can be used to create texture and patterns on watercolor paper such as staccato, brick wall patterns and tree bark. We’ll explore dry brush techniques to create yellow sunflowers and the illusion of sun-spangled snow. Participants will roll and drag our brushes and even gently sweep wet paint with the brush handle to fashion mounds of arching grasses. 

This workshop is intended for ages 13 and older, all materials provided, including the beverages!

A native of Maryland, Kas Rohm has developed her own watercolor style by blending her love of color, composition and technique. Kas enjoys the marriage of water and color to paper in this delightful medium which can often result in the simultaneous sense of momentum and stillness. Kas has enjoyed spending time at Mary’s Land Farm for inspiration and the ambience of the rustic buildings, beautiful scenery and the unique farmland culture. Selections of her work is on display at our historic Inn at Mary’s Land Farm.
