She Got Buckets 2024-25 National Tournament in Howard County, Maryland

Ellicott City, MD (April 14, 2025) - She Got Buckets (SGB), in proud partnership with Visiting Howard County, is excited to announce the return of the National Chinese Women’s College Basketball League Finals, taking place April 19–20, 2025 at Howard Community College (HCC)’s brand-new Kahlert Foundation Complex, a state-of-the-art facility designed to create an electrifying atmosphere ideal for showcasing basketball competitions. 

She Got Buckets, a global nonprofit committed to empowering Asian women sports, just celebrated its 6th year of dedicating to the Asian women's basketball community in the U.S., UK, Japan and China. The upcoming tournament marks the organization’s third consecutive year in Howard County and the first at (HCC)’s bKahlert Foundation Complex, a state-of-the-art facility designed to elevate the athlete and fan experience.

The tournament will showcase top Chinese women’s basketball talent from 14 colleges nationwide, uniting student-athletes in a celebration of sportsmanship, culture, and community. 

Special Event (April 20, Sunday, 11:00 AM ET; Location: Kahlert Foundation Complex Main Gym): SGB is also honored to welcome guest speakers from the Chinese Embassy, Visit Howard County, and Howard Community College for a special event on Sunday from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM ET, marking the conclusion of the tournament and highlighting the collective support behind this impactful event. You may join the event at 10:00 AM to watch the Semi-final game of the SGB National Tournament.

Tickets are free for all Howard County residents, and all are welcome to attend the event. Please bring your photo ID to the event; no pre-registration is required. 

“When we play pick-up basketball in recreational parks, I often hear my teammates shouting, ‘Take the shot! You got buckets!’ or maybe ‘Don’t let her shoot—she got buckets!’” said Ellen Wang, founder of She Got Buckets, when asked about the name of this organization, “These words have inspired every girl to trust in herself. She Got Buckets was born from the support of communities like yours, and we want to continue this mission—to inspire more girls to enjoy sports and find confidence in themselves.”

The national event will be private and invitation-only. Tickets are free for all Howard County residents. For Howard County residents, please bring your photo ID to the event; no pre-registration is required. All other guests need to notify and be confirmed by She Got Buckets by sending your guest lists to info@shegotbuckets.org
