Belmont Manor has been restored and sits on 68 acres of rolling hills which includes The Cottage House, The Carriage House, The Caretaker's house,  a barn, an aqua garden, trails, a cemetery and extensive gardens. The property is also home to The Howard County Conservancy. Belmont now hosts an array of events. These include weddings, rehearsals dinners, business meetings, holiday parties, anniversary parties, retirement parties, quinceaneras, bat/bar mitzvahs, retreats and bridal showers. Situated on a hilltop overlooking the Patapsco River Valley, The Patapsco Female Institute was founded in 1837 as an elegant finishing school for young women. The stabilized ruins of the Greek revival structure are open for tours, and serve as a beautiful setting for special events including weddings, receptions, camps, and open-air theatre.

Centennial Park has won awards for its natural design and sensitivity to nature. The 337-acre park features a spectacular 54-acre, man-made lake, which is stocked by the State Department of Fisheries, and is home to a variety of wildlife such as white-tailed deer, beavers, foxes, turtles, herons, and many other bird species. You can walk, run or bike the 2.6-mile paved pathway that meanders around the lake or the 7.3 miles of interconnecting paved pathway that includes links to surrounding neighborhoods.

The Patapsco Valley State Park extending along 32 miles of the Patapsco River and encompassing 16,043 acres, is nationally known for its 170 miles of trails. Welcoming 1.1M outdoor enthusiasts annually, the Park is an oasis between Baltimore & Washington, DC for hiking, birding, tubing and daring the ‘swinging bridge’ . And a top draw for regional mountain bikers who affectionately refer to the Park as “Moab East” with its rock and root hopping, steep switchbacks, killer stream crossings and ‘lung busting’ climbs that brings these thrill seekers back again and again.

You have an invitation to the rich, scenic countryside! There is plenty to keep you entertained at this 190 acre park. Enjoy 4 premium grass multi-purpose sport fields, 2 lighted synthetic turf fields, tennis courts and a playground. There are also 4 ball diamonds (one lighted), a tee ball field and 2 basketball courts. There are five pavilions available on a first-come, first-served basis. As an added bonus, the Gary J. Arthur Community Center at Glenwood and the Library are only a stone’s throw away! Additional amenities include pathways, nature/horse trails, three restroom facilities, and a maintenance facility. The park is open from 7 am to dusk or as posted.
