The Rathskeller is inspired by the actual rathskellers in Germany: timeless, elegant cellar bars under city halls. Our contemporary take includes modern street cuisine, a cocktail program that features re-imagined uses for traditional German liqueurs, and a hand selected wine list from small boutique family-owned vineyards in central Europe. We are located in the cellar of a two story building that traces back to the 1880's. Deeply inspired by the rich history of historic Elkridge and to replicate the ambiance of traditional rathskellers, our dining area features a bar constructed from the original woodwork of the building, a barrel vault ceiling, stained antique glass, and a large tiffany chandelier. Our property also features the original "Elkridge Jail" as an integral piece to our iron-gated outdoor patio. Legend has it that a local judge would use the building as a weekend drunk tank!
