Preakness Festivities 2026

The 151st Preakness Stakes is back in Maryland—and Howard County is ready to celebrate! The Preakness is the pivotal jewel in horse racing’s ultimate series, the Triple Crown. This once-in-a-lifetime event will be held at Laurel Park on Saturday, May 16, 2026. The Black-Eyed Susan Stakes will take place the day before on Friday, May 15, 2026.

Howard County is fully embracing the tradition of Preakness season and celebrating Maryland’s long-standing equestrian heritage with a variety of unique opportunities. The Preakness festivities will feature signature events, cultural festivities, and community activities all designed to emulate a premier Preakness-style experience.
