Where to Get the Brews

Manor Hill Brewing

You’ll want to pay a visit to Manor Hill Brewing, the first farm brewery in Howard County. The brewery sits on a 54-acre working farm and attracts beer lovers everywhere with its approachable beers of various styles, including the Biere de Garde Belgian dark ale. Frisco and the Reckless Shepherd BrewPub and Entertainment

Come out during February to listen to live music and bands regularly! Enjoy pool tables and corn hole, along with a solid beer list and fun happy hour events at Frisco and the Reckless Shepherd.

Sapwood Cellars

Sapwood Cellars specializes in mixed-fermented beers and hoppy ales, including Little by Slowly Reserva Barrel-Aged Berliner Weisse and Star Spanglish Banner Mexican Lager. With rotating food trucks offered regularly and weekly trivia, there’s always something to do here. 

The Ale House Columbia

Relax in the modern space that The Ale House Columbia offers with build-your-own draft beer flights of options, including Gunner's Daughter Stout and Hopslam Ale IPA. Food consists of crispy potstickers, smoked short rib grilled cheese, plus a kid's menu and bottomless build-your-own brunch cocktails.

Black Flag Brewing Co.

Black Flag Brewing Co. in Columbia has been going strong since 2015 and now offers 16 unique taps that include Two Birds Stoned At Once IPA and Crispy Boy Rice Lager. Dogs are welcome and regular pop-up food events and weekly trivia nights make for a cool space you’ll want to frequent. 

Hysteria Brewing Co. 

With its exposed brick, book-lined shelves, and industrial lighting, the well-decorated taproom at Hysteria Brewing Co. offers a comfy vibe that’s hard to resist. Communal tables make for easy conversations with new friends (even the furry ones) while sipping innovative drafts and cans that include Trash Panda Hazy American IPA.

Jailbreak Brewing Co.

Known as the first production brewery to hit Howard County, Jailbreak Brewing Co. has lots to offer. Beer lovers will enjoy anything from Orange Hefeweizen to West Coast-style IPA. Phoenix Upper Main

The Phoenix Upper Main is the original beer bar in historic Ellicott City. Dark hues and swanky decor offer an upscale vibe to drink microbrews and local hops, including Nepenthe Mallet American Light Lager. There is an extensive food menu (and one for the kiddos, too) with baked brie, crab quiche, sausage platter, and burgers to try.
