Are you ready for an unforgettable celebration of diversity, community, and rich heritage? Look no further than the 3rd annual AAPI Festival, happening on Saturday, May 11, 2024 from noon to 5 pm at The Chrysalis, Merriweather Park at Symphony Woods in Columbia, MD.

Hosted by County Executive Calvin Ball in partnership with the Inner Arbor Trust, this free festival is a vibrant homage to the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community in Howard County, Maryland and beyond.

Embrace the Spirit of AAPI Culture

Get ready to be dazzled by the performances showcasing the diversity of AAPI traditions on the Chrysalis stage. Music and dance performances include the traditional and modern, energetic dance numbers and quieter vocal acts. These include Chinese folk and opera dances, modern Bollywood and Indian classical dances, traditional Korean dances and drum performances, ballet with a Japanese twist, dance medleys from throughout the Pacific Islands, Mindat dances, and vocals by Bangladeshi Americans, to name a few. The Chrysalis stage will also feature amazing martial arts presentations including Tai Chi and Taekwondo.

And let's not forget about the food! Indulge your taste buds with a delectable array of authentic Asian and Pacific Islander cuisine served up by Merriweather District highlight Peter Chang will be there alongside local favorites like Phowheels, Namit Filipino Barbecue, Thai Pinto, Bun’d Up, and Blowfish Poke and Grill! They’ll be there alongside more than a dozen other food trucks offering bubble tea, pastries, dumplings, buns, ice cream and so much more! You won't want to miss out on these mouthwatering flavors.
