November 3-31 Art Howard County 2017 at Howard County Arts Council
Showcasing artists who live, work, or study in Howard County, Maryland are the focus of Art Howard County 2017, a biennial, juried exhibit featuring work in a variety of media. This year’s guest juror is Thomas Engleman, Gallery Director and Professor of Visual Arts at Howard Community College, who will offer remarks and present juror awards at a free reception on November 10 from 6–8pm.

Reality proves a fertile playground for the imaginations of the artists showcased in this gallery exhibit. Sabine Carlson’s colorful oil paintings depict fragmented figurative imagery in abstracted landscapes, while Robert Mathews creates unsettling portraits of his ‘imaginary friends.
